Remember the third Sunday of each month is "Food Bank Sunday".

Bring non-perishable food to the church to be taken to the food bank.

"July is Peanut Butter and Jelly Month!"

The third Sunday each month is the day we furnish the evening meal at  "Room In The Inn".    Room In the Inn feeds and provides temporary housing for homeless families. Churches in Murfreesboro take turns preparing evening meals and our monthly meal is on the third Sunday of the month at 5:00 PM. Your help is needed in preparing food, or helping to serve if you can stay a while. Please see  Jo Nelson or Sharon Matheny to volunteer.

All who can help please do so.

We have resurrected the emergency closet that the church used to keep.

So many people stop by the church in need of a little food that we would like to get this ministry going again.

    We will keep items stocked that Steve can pass out to folks looking for a meal, as well as some information about help available from different agencies.
      I have bought a few items to get us started. We want to keep ready to open and eat type things. The individual cans of tuna, Vienna Sausage, chicken, cans with the pull off lids. Also the fruit cups that come 4 or 6 to a pack.  I bought some brown lunch sacks and some Capri Sun pouches.
   If we pick up things like this when we are getting our Food Bank Food, then we can quickly get a good stock going. Don't forget that September is all about Veggies for the Food Bank, although whatever you choose to bring is welcome and badly needed.
     Some other items that might be needed in our closet are;
Beanie Weenies, Packs of crackers, Small bags of chips, Pull tab cans of baked beans, Small bags of cookies

Anyway, you get the picture. We might want to add bottled water, small cans of juice, or jars of baby food. We do not want to get too much baby food though as it never went very fast before and the freshness date would run out.
     If you can help with this project, perhaps we can begin to have this food handy for Steve to use to help out anyone who might come by asking for help.
Thank you for your continued generosity,
Jo  (Mrs. Garry Nelson)
